Advance Nurse Practitioner
Mr Eddie Alder runs his own surgery. He can diagnose and prescribe appropriately for many conditions. He is available for consultation by appointment or telephone triage appointment 4 days per week Monday to Thursday.
Nurse Prescriber
Sister Sarah Newton is also able to prescribe.
Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants
Are available for consultation by appointment each day. They can help you with minor injuries, dressings, immunisations, injections, removal of sutures, ear syringing, blood pressure checks, urine testing and travel vaccinations.
In addition they provide health checks for Asthma and other respiratory diseases, Diabetes, Hypertension (blood pressure), Heart Disease, Stroke and Cervical Smear Screening.
Phlebotomy Services
This service is available at: Park House, 61 Burton Road, Carlton, Nottingham
This is a Drop-in service and no appointment is necessary. Sessions are held Mon – Fri 8.00 am till 12.00 noon.
The Community Midwife
cares for pregnant women. Antenatal clinics by appointment are held at the medical centre on Wednesday mornings.
Health Visitors have offices at Park House (tel: 0115 961 7616) and the St Georges Centre (tel: 0115 940 4153). If they are not available to take your call, you may leave a message on their answer phone.
They are qualified nurses and midwives, who specialise in health promotion and disease prevention for all ages, especially for families with young children, with development checks for the under fives.
They visit in the home as well as work in a variety of clinics, and can advise about minor illnesses in children, especially if it is not clear whether to see a doctor or not.

Flu Vaccinations
The surgery will be running flu vaccination clinics from September until March. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment.
It is not just the elderly who should have the flu jab. There are quite a few people who are more “at risk” when they catch flu. You may be one of these people if you:-
Are over 65 years old
Have asthma or lung disease
Have heart disease
Are diabetic
Have a kidney condition
Have a liver condition
Have had a stroke
Have an illness or are taking medication that lowers your immunity
Are an unpaid carer
